Bowski out
In a major blow to the Dragons' lead-up to the Asian Champs this week, Dom 'Bowski' Dunn has been ruled out of the competition after sustaining a knee injury during a game of Gaelic football on Saturday (Aug 29).

After getting a pin inserted in his leg, Bowski will now join the elite Football Dept team under the tutilege of Coach Wino and alongside Lips and Farmer. He also firms appreciably in the BOF betting field.

Seeking some extra fitness ahead of our major event of the year, the full back and key position player who had been earmarked for an important role across the half back line fractured a bone just below the knee after contact with another player. Speaking from Ruttonjee hospital on the weekend, Bowski expressed his disappointment and said he was awaiting news on whether surgery was required.

The Dragons will now be looking to turn this negative into a source of inspiration as they try to put in a rewarding performeance on behalf of a club figure that truly gives the club everything he has on and off the field.

Following the broken thumb to Marrk 'Cozza' Corrie just a week earlier at training, the injury toll in the lead-up has been unfortunate. Former star Dragon Aaron 'Besty' Bester has also ruled out an appearance at the Champs due to travel obligations with work.

The Dragons final Sunday hitout takes place at 3pm today (Aug 30) at Happy Valley.

Remember: No Ivan Milats before 12

Two new arrivals
Dragons veteran Matty Wu and Dragon and Port Powerhouse Dean May have both become first-time parents.

Matty and Viv are now proud parents since the early morning August 22 of baby Madeleine Wu. Maddie and Matty. Sweet.

Deano is now the proud father of Sienna Jane May, born 0932 this morning (Friday, August 21). Says Deano, "Mum and bub in excellent health. It went F--KING great!", he said, employing the adjectival expletive that brought this whole saga on.

Deano added: "Believe it or not, the reason I haven't been to training lately is 95% due to my shit roster at work. Please pass on my regards to all and I will try to get down before the champs."

Congrats from the club on the newbie. No tattoos before 12.

Harrison John Liu-Maudson

Congrats to Tim Maudson, with the former rugby playing convert to Aussie Rules (well before Carmichael Hunt of the Gold Coast) kicking one through the big sticks. Harrison John Liu-Maudson was born on July 28 at 3.20pm weighing in at
3.616kg and 49cm long.

"Its been a pretty exhausting couple of weeks with the new job and now new baby. Hope to be back to normal soon, the wife comes home on Sunday so you might see me next week some time."

Justin goes nuts
Kudos to the hardy boxers who made it to the July 1 public holiday Wednesday session; Tim the Chef, Stooch (DCMD), Prez Boges, Dylan and Justin, Turkish Stef. Special mention to Justin Barbero for expertly removing trainer Lee's right nut. During the sprint against the giant resistant rubber band, he managed to slip free and ping the 95kg trainer with a kilo of rubber flying at 120km/hr, deftly taking out his righty.

Deuce and son Rio

Deuce bags number 2
Former Dragons off-field superstar Deuce Bigalow (aka Garry Frenklah) has become a second-time father. Young Rio came in weighing 3.28kg. "All doing well, at least until Jake realises he is no longer the center of attention!" said Deuce of wife Kyoko and family.

With one child born in HK and the other in Singapore, sibling rivalry is guaranteed.

Bali beat East Timor
The Bali Geckos consumed the East Timor Crocs with a flick of the tongue in Saturday's inaugural Crikey Cup international match at Marrara's TIO Stadium.

The Geckos trailed at half-time but found their feet in the last two quarters to win running away, 7.9 (51) to 5.4 (34). The match marks the much anticipated launch of AFL Asia, with associated programs like Auskick to encourage young people to take up the Australian game.

AFL legend Kevin Sheedy is presented with a Dragons jumper at the dinner co-hosted the club, AFL and AustCham.

Storm denies Bejing Sheedy visit
Storms kept Kevin Sheedy in Shanghai this week (June 18) and denied the Bejing Bombers faithful the chance to host a dinner with the AFL legend. The crowd still turned up to the Embassy to hear some stories from the great man via speaker phone.
