The Dragons first official social event of 2009 took place on Monday (Jan 26) to mark the unprecedented collision of Australia Day with Chinese New Year.
About 25 Dragons, WAGs and kids descended upon Bulldogs LKF from 11am for a day of Aussie revelry, including the cricket on the big screen and a satellite link to the countdown of the JJJ Hottest 100.
DJ Bogan later fed the reqests of Rentboy and Lips for obscure WA pop singles, Mitch strapped himself to a giant thong crucifix, Bowski terrorised everyone, Simo spent his time colouring his colour-in book and playing toy cars, the South Africans pumped the Aussies in the one-dayer and Kings of Leon topped the Hottest 100 to the bemusement of Stuchy who claimed never to have heard of them or any other act mentioned in the countdown.
Wino revealed that the club would have half a dozen new Sherrins bought up to Hong Kong ahead of the first training run in March. The club is right now finalising its tour schedule, securing 2009 club sponsors and preparing all the merchandise ahead of the big year ahead. All players should be reminded that now is the time to start recruiting players - of any skill level - to the club to ensure 2009 is a huge success and the club can continue to grow and thrive.
Kudos to committee members Bowski and Stuchy for pulling together a great day on January 26.
